During the weeks following Maya's birth, Kimberly and Ellie would come by and take Clark to the playground so Mommy and Maya could bond. It was a wonderful thing!!!

My little Maya-moo-moo
Maya has had a challenging first month of life! Breastfeeding was difficult at first, but she's gotten the hang of it. Just in time for her to develop thrush in her mouth. :( So she's on antibiotics four times a day for that.
She smiled for the first time on May 25th! She was smiling at Mommy. :) She takes most of her naps on Mommy's chest. She nurses, burps, then cozies up for a snooze. It's the only way Mommy gets to nap too! Sometimes after an hour, Mommy can place her in the bassinet and she'll stay sleeping.
She weighs 9 pounds, 4 ounces. Her longest stretch of sleep is four hours. She is still getting her days and nights mixed up at times. But, since she's started smiling, she's become very responsive! It's a huge treat to smile with her after a busy night of feeding and diaper changes. :)
Also during this first month, Aunt Carly and cousin Jay flew out to meet Maya!!! What an amazing treat!!! Mommy was super encouraged by their visit!! And Maya had some fun bonding time with her doting Aunt Carly. :) I have a picture of them somewhere but I can't find it. Oh well!
We also had a visit from Aunt Amy, Mackenzie, Alex, Annie, Andrew, Molly, and Mom-mom!!! They brought beautiful clothes for Maya, and gave Mommy's tired arms a break by holding her and loving on her!! It was so refreshing to see them and have some fun girl time (sorry Andrew! haha).
I'm sure there were other fun happenings but I can't remember them right now! Here's a cute video from Maya's first week of life:
