Weekend pictures

Here are some pics from this weekend.  Well, the first one is from dinner at Grandma's on Thursday night:

The next two are from bath time on Saturday night.  He always cries as I dry him off but Saturday night he stopped abruptly and I realized it was because he found his hand to suck on!

Clark just woke up...I will post more later!!

Full Friday

Dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's house was wonderful!! Clark behaved very well--he went down for a nap right before dinner. He went down in record time (five minutes!!) and I laid him on Grandma and Grandpa's bed while we ate. It worked out perfectly! He woke up right as we were starting dessert so I fed him then Grandma held him while I ate my dessert. The menu was awesome, by the way. A typical feast from Grandma: grilled chicken, corn on the cob, cucumber salad, applesauce, rolls, zucchini casserole..I don't think I forgot anything...oh! and strawberries and cake for dessert! Yum!! It was a huge help and I'm looking forward to having Grandma and Grandpa over for dinner sometime soon to return the favor. :)

Last night Clark slept from 8:30 to 2:30am then he woke up again at 6:30 then 8:00. I think Josh might have accidentally woken him up as he was leaving for work because I had to pop his paci at 7:30 but by 8 he was whimpering so I knew he was awake for good. Kim came over around 10:15 to watch Clark while Grandma and I rehearsed. Grandma came around 10:45 and we chose some hymn arrangements to play at the Summerfield hymn sing. The rehearsal was very fun and Clark ended up falling asleep as we played! Kim stayed after until about noon--thanks for helping out Kim!!

Well I just typed a looong post and it somehow deleted itself..."an error occurred while saving" okay...whatever! I will type more later, right now I need to get to bed because Clark has already been asleep for an hour!
This afternoon I ate lunch while Clark napped. When he woke up I fed him then loaded him up into the car and we drove over to Kim's house. (I had forgotten to give Kim some zucchini I had for her.) Clark and I got a tour of the basement which was great! Inspiring, really! They have so much done already and they started the framing today!

Highlights

The pictures above are from Clark's activity times today :)  He has only been napping for 30 to 45 minutes at a time so unfortunately this post will be brief!  Monday night was not great for Clark.  Or for me!  He was waking up a lot and when he woke up at 4am, here's what happened:

4:00am: I wake up to Clark crying so I scoop him up, pop his paci in and start bouncing him.  He continues crying and eventually Josh wakes up.  Josh: Why is he crying?  Me: I'm trying to put him back to sleep and it's not working!  I'm so frustrated!  Josh: Is he hungry?  Did you feed him yet?  Me:  ....oh yeah!  haha
So that pretty much sums up my mental capacity on Monday night! hahaha

Anyway here are some highlights over the past three days:

Monday highlights:
- Josh was home today.  I loved having him around!  He was so helpful with Clark!  I had had a tough night Sunday night too so I did a lot of napping.
- We went shopping to Wal-mart as a family.  It was a nice little outing.  Of course I ended up forgetting items on my list and having to go again on Tuesday.  Sheesh!

Tuesday highlights:
- Today Clark and I were home together for ten and a half hours straight!!  Monday night was a long and I still felt tired in the morning so I napped during Clark's two 30-minute morning naps.  Not a lot of rest...but enough to keep me going.  I felt like I took two "power naps." :)
- The only time we left the house was to run to the bank.  We went through the drive-through and I specifically went to the Morgantown branch because I hadn't had a shower and I thought, "I don't know anyone who works at the Morgantown branch."  WELL as it turned out my cousin Adrienne Kurtz was working the drive-thru window and when she said my name another familiar face, Tara Rasmussen, popped her head up too! haha oh man....
- Tuesday night we went to small group and Clark lasted about an hour and half before getting super cranky.  He had been sleeping in his infant seat but once he woke up it was all over.  I fed him before we left but he was getting sad again soon after.  It was his bedtime.  We took him home and gave him a bath then tucked him in, hoping for the best!
- And as it turned out he had a great night!!!  He only woke up once during the night!  aaaahhhh that's more like it!

Wednesday highlights:
- In the morning Clark and I took a nap then I called up Grandma and we went over there.  I dropped Clark off for about an hour while I ran to Walmart then came home and dropped off my bags and vacuumed the master bedroom (it was nasty).  When I got back to Grandma's I came to the door and could hear children's voices...When Grandpa opened the door he was chuckling.  He said, "we have Clark watching cartoons!"  haha  It's a new trick!  Clark was crying so they turned on the cartoons louder than his crying and he quieted down!!  Another trick for the arsenal.  :)  Clark was nearly asleep when I arrived but he woke up after about twenty minutes then I fed him and we went home.
- Josh was able to come home early today because his department had a community-building picnic and then they all went home afterwards.  He was able to grill burgers for dinner, which was nice!
- Clark took a great two-hour nap this afternoon so I made four loaves of zucchini bread during that time.  I have a lot of zucchini (thanks Mom F and Amy!!) so I was excited to make some of my favorite bread.
- In the evening I took Clark with me to Bible study because he was being clingy at home.  I put him to sleep during the first 30 minutes of study and he slept in the infant seat for the duration.  I brought him home and he stayed asleep until around 1:30AM, then he didn't wake again until 5:30AM!  Yay!  After that he woke up at 8:30 and was ready for the day.

Thursday highlights (so far :)
- Today Clark and I are laying low again.  Clark started off the day with a blow-out diaper.  As I was putting vitamin A&D ointment on his circumcision (long story...) he peed all over the place so I figured I may as well just give him a bath!  He had poop up his back and pee on his tummy! haha  oh man.  So after his bath I dressed him and walked upstairs to put him down for his first nap.  I put him in his crib for some fun before bed and he spit up a TON, it trickled all down his back and I figured he wouldn't be able to fall asleep well being all wet.  So we changed his outfit...again! haha  Never a dull moment!
- His naps today have been pathetic.  He slept for 30 minutes then 45 minutes this morning, then this afternoon only for 30 minutes each.  I was expecting a longer nap this afternoon!  That's okay, he's just a baby! :)
- We were invited to Grandma's and Grandpa's for dinner tonight (yay!!!!) so I'm really looking forward to that.  Josh should be home at 6pm then we're heading over.  I just hope Clark doesn't decide to take a marathon nap now because it's already 4:15pm and I don't want him to sleep through dinner! :)
