Happy Birthday, Eleanor Diane!!!

Aunt Kim and Uncle Jon had their baby, Ellie, in a whirlwind!  Aunt Kim was having contractions during the day, and by the time she got to the hospital, Ellie was an hour away from being born!!  Ellie weighed 6 pounds, 3 ounces and was 19 inches long.  She is a beautiful little baby and we love her already!!

first day home!

Ellie surprised us all by coming three weeks early, so unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to the hospital until three hours after her birth.  BUT I was so happy to be able to meet her that day.  We love you Ellie!

Happy Birthday, Joshua Mark!!!

Josh turned three this year!!!  Wow!!  It was fun to watch him run around with his cousin Andrew at the shore this summer.  He is also a wonderful older brother--looking out for Josiah. :)  And he's a great cousin to Clark!  He was always sweet to him--handing him toys and acting very gracious if Clark ever took some of his matchbox cars.  Here are some pictures:

15 months

Today Clark had his 15-month checkup.  I was excited to see how much he has grown!  He also got two vaccines (MMR and chicken pox) and his iron was tested.  He is no longer "slightly anemic" so we can officially stop giving him iron!  (I think we officially stopped doing that a couple months ago...oops.)  Usually when we go to the doctor, Clark cries when the doctor examines him, but then stops and starts babbling.  Not this time!  He cried when I talked to the receptionist, cried when the nursed walked in the room, cried the entire time the doctor was in the room, cried when the nurse came back and gave him shots, and cried right out the door!!  His eyes and nose were so red when we left!  So much crying!  The doctor and I could hardly hear each other.  We actually started laughing at one point because each of us had to keep saying, "what? what?"  Haha  Anyway, here are his stats:

Weight: 23 pounds, 8 ounces (35th percentile)
Height: 31 and 3/4 inches (70th percentile)
Head Circumference: 18 and 3/4 inches (70th percentile)

The doctor was not concerned about his lack of vocabulary, and he said he should start walking in the next month or so.  Because he climbs stairs, walks along furniture, and climbs furniture, he probably doesn't have weak legs or anything, it's just that he doesn't feel like walking.  The doctor said if Clark doesn't start walking by October, and we're really concerned, we can have a therapist come to our house.

Happy Birthday, Jay!!!

Jay turned one!!!  Jay and Clark have become friends this summer. They enjoy playing together--sharing toys with no problem and waddling/scooting around after a ball or riding toy.  Jay was a welcome surprise when he was born last year!  We were all super excited for Jonathan to finally have a son--his dream!!!  And what a dream Jay has been!  (well, after his frist three months or so...). Jay has always been a good sleeper--just like Clark!  He adores his older sisters and is always game for a wrestle with his aunties.  Here are some pictures:

Waving 'Night 'Night!

I forgot to include this anecdote in the post below!  Last night when Josh was putting Clark to bed, he laid him down in the crib and said, "'Night, 'night, Clark!"  As Josh was leaving, he looked over his shoulder and saw Clark had rolled over onto his stomach, reached out with his left hand, and was waving bye bye!  Haha what a ham!

August Update

We've had a busy two weeks!  A couple Saturdays ago, we visited Mumum and Pupup.  It was great to see them!  Mumum is always so cheerful and happy, even though she has no idea who were are.  That's how I want to be if I ever have dementia!  They had just eaten breakfast so they were a little sleepy while we were there, but Clark's antics helped keep them awake!  Here are some pictures from our trip:

Last week I made two trips to Center City Philadelphia to get my violin serviced.  Totally worth it!  It looks beautiful and sounds even better!  A BIG thank you to Mimi who came along to look after Clark in the car.  Let's just say Clark made a big liar out of me and behaved like a perfect angel the whole time!  I hope it was worth it for Mimi: I treated her to a Chick-fil-a lunch both times.  She seemed satisfied with that. Haha  Clark and I went to Grandma's for lunch on 8/2, and he was playing so furiously I barely got a picture! As you can see it's all blurry!  He loves playing at Grandma's house. :)

These were taken on Thursday night when Josh got home from work.  Clark brought him a book right away!  He got this book from his Hawaiian friend James.  It's called "Down at the Beach."

On Friday night, I went out with the other "mommies" in my small group for a girl's night out.  It was so much fun!!  We went to Ludwig's Grille.  The food was amazing!  We ended up staying out for almost five hours!  Meanwhile, the "daddies" got together and babysat the kids together.  Haha isn't that great?  I thought that was so funny.  Anyway they had a great time.

On Saturday night we went to our friend Ryan & Tara's house for dinner.  We had a wonderful time, but Clark was especially unruly.  It was actually kind of embarrassing!  He had a pitiful nap that day so he was half hyper, half cranky.  I felt really bad, but they were very gracious.

On Tuesday we had lunch at Grandma's again!  So much fun!  Grandma was in the middle of making applesauce during our visit.  She had picked up some apples at a roadside stand for $1.50/bag!  They were "seconds" so she's using them for applesauce.  I was very inspired!

On Wednesday Clark woke up with terrible bedhead.  The kind that made me say, "oh my!" when I saw him in the morning!  He was so giggly when he woke up--it's as if he knew he looked silly! Haha what a goof.

"Mommy please don't use this picture in my wedding slideshow!!"

Wednesday night was a big night for me!  I co-hosted a surprise baby shower for Kimberly!  The other hosts were our friend Jen and Kimberly's mother-in-law.  The shower was at Jen's house.  We had a wonderful time and we are all so excited to meet Baby Mountz!!

Yay! We surprised her!

Today was spent mostly at Kim's house. :)  Mom and I went over to help her set up her nursery (i.e. gush over baby clothes and dream of holding that little one!!!).  Clark came along (he's not allowed to stay at home alone yet...what age can they do that, by the way?? :).  He was such a good boy!  He played nicely until naptime then snoozed for two hours in his packnplay!  He woke up with a loud "scared" cry (meaning: "MOMMY!!!  I thought I was at home but I'm not!!!!).  But smiled right away when I opened the door.  I took some pictures of him playing at home today.  He is a busy bee!  See if you can spot his favorite toy in the pictures...

"Toy Central, USA"

Yes! His favorite toy is his yellow truck that he got from the Yorgeys for his birthday!  He makes a beeline for it in the morning and I have to pry it out of his hands before his bath at night!

And to close, here is a video of our new dinner soundtrack.  Clark voices his approval loudly!  I appreciate the praise, but sometimes all the noise can drive Josh a little crazy...:)

Family Vacation....Fenton-style :)

We had some great times in OCNJ this July!  We were there over the Independence Day holiday.  The heat and humidity really kicked in during that week, but overall we had great weather!  Clark really enjoyed the beach this year!  He was not afraid of the sand or the surf.  Josh had some great times jumping waves with him.  Maybe next year Clark will be jumping waves on his own!  Here are some pictures to capture our time:
