Clark is officially "mobile."

Clark is scooting around the house like a crazy baby!  He ends up collecting things under his little bottom as he goes.  Yesterday he was dragging some tissues around (extra padding?) and today he had a bunch of cereal crumbs under there (afternoon snack?).  He discovered the dishwasher and the big pots and pans drawer.  He likes to help me unload the dishwasher but unfortunately I discovered a nasty soap residue along the sides and I don't want him to accidentally eat it (it was on his hands yesterday--that's how I found it).  So no more fun in the dishwasher!

Yesterday morning my friend Ashley brought her baby Isabelle (3 months old) over to play!  Clark was very enthusiastic about Isabelle!!  They will be great friends.  He loved to rock her infant seat and talk to her.  It was super cute!!  Here is a video:

We've had a busy week but I'm trying to take more pictures throughout the day.  Clark likes to pull himself up to his knees on his sit-to-stand walker. Then when the music turns on he dances :) Today he did that for ten minutes straight!  Talk about a workout!  I need to get a video of that.  I also need to get a video of his improved scooting skills.  Here are some pictures for now:

coffee table...a tasty treat!!

more fun with Isabelle:

 Big boy!!

Clark is also happy to announce that he will have a new cousin due on September 3rd!!!!  Aunt Katelyn and Uncle David are expecting!!!!!!  Haley will be a wonderful big sister!!!!  We can't wait to meet the new baby Canche!!!!!

Happy Birthday Haley Corinne!!!

Today was Haley's 1st birthday!! We finally caught up with her at the end of the day! We played phone tag for most of the day. :) She had a very busy birthday! We are so happy that she is one year old, growing and developing every day. Last year on this day we weren't sure if she would even be healthy when she was born!! And now she's a thriving toddler with lots of spunk and energy, as well as the sweetest brown eyes you'll ever see!!

the first time I held her!

when Haley came home she wanted to cuddle with her stuffed animals in her crib :)

this is my favorite picture of Haley and Clark:

This is when they met for the first time:

"As a father shows compassion on his children, so the Lord shows compassion on those who fear him.  For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust...the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children's children."
Psalm 103:13-14, 17.

9 months old!

Clark was nine months old on Sunday!  I can't believe it!  He had his doctor appointment on Friday.  Here are his stats:

Weight: 20 pounds, 2 ounces (50th percentile).
Height: 27.5 inches (50th percentile).
Head circumference: 18.2 inches (75th percentile).

I took some pictures of him today with his teddy bear.  Most of them are blurry because I realized I didn't have the camera on the "action" setting until the very end!  Oh well!  Here they are:

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day from Clark Thomas!!  He is having a wonderful day so far!  He received a cute red shirt from Mimi and Pops and a package of goodies from Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop!  Thank you all!

Here are two videos of him exploring...I promise he actually moves around!  He is just reaching a lot in these videos.  He tries to get into the crawling position too.

Three pictures

These are three pictures from the last two days. The first one is of Josh putting his shoes on in the morning, Clark is looking on with interest! It's so cute to see them sitting side by side! The third picture is Clark's classic pose in the grocery cart at Walmart! He is a goof! Although I seem to remember his Stoltzfus side cousins striking this same pose :) And the second picture is Clark getting into a drawer in the kitchen. It was the first time he ever did that!

Scoot Scoot Scoot and Na Na Na

Clark had a fun week!  We spent time at Grandma and Grandpa's house over lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday AND Thursday!!  We had such a fun time!!  It was wonderful to get out of the house each day, enjoy Grandma's amazing cooking (!!), and show off Clark's new tricks!  Speaking of his new tricks...he now will scoot around on his little bottom!  He moves pretty slow, but he gets where he wants to be!  Here he is trying to pull up on the coffee table:

It's a little slippery because of the hardwood floor.  He also enjoys scooting over to his crib and trying to pull up there too:

We lowered his crib last week as well.  Crazy!  I can't believe how big he's getting.  He now fits into size 12 months!  I just rearranged his clothes this week.  I also (finally) bought him bigger socks. :)  On Saturday he said "Mama" while he was waking up after a nap!  I couldn't get him to say it again, but he will say "Na Na Na" alll the time.  Close enough! :)

He has been experiencing a bit of separation anxiety.  When we arrive somewhere (Grandma's house, church, playdate, etc.) he will get all quiet and clingy.  If I hand him off to someone else as soon as we step in the door, he will start to cry.  If I keep him on my lap for 5-10 minutes, he will be fine when I hand him off.  Unfortunately I can't hang out in nursery for 10 minutes before church so he will usually cry a bit but they don't buzz me so he must quiet down okay.

We went to a playdate with my small group friends on Friday morning.  He warmed up pretty fast and was playing nicely.  Then one of the little girls (about 18 months old) came over and took one of his toys right out of his hand.  He has never minded that sort of thing, but there's a first time for everything!  He reached out his hand towards the girl and started yelling!  I was so surprised!  He really wanted that plastic, pink cell phone back!  Haha!  Unfortunately the little girl decided to play with it right under his nose, so I just picked him up and plopped him in front of some other toys.  And he forgot about the cell phone. :)  It was so funny because he has never reacted like that!  Oh boy.

About a month ago we decided to go ahead with Clark's surgery so it is scheduled for February 16th.  I will probably not blog much about it since I don't really want that broadcasted on the internet for Clark to read when he turns 13!!  So if you want to hear more just send me an email and I'll gladly fill you in!

To close, here are two videos of Clark playing in the nursery:
